Place of event: Jinja, Nile Rivers Explorer Camp
Each team of six will compete against each other, six boats in each heat. Each race is expected to last about 20-25 minutes, and though the current will take the rafts along, the fastest route will be to paddle the whole way. Two big yellow buoys will mark the finish line and a time keeper will keep a record of all raft times. On completion of each race rafts will be carried up to a truck and loaded onto a trailer ready to be taken back for the start of the next heat. Competitors for the next heat will accompany the rafts in the truck. The fastest six times will race in the finals.
Food & drink will be available for sale all day at "EXPLORERS" campsite, all profits of which will go to RHINO FUND UGANDA. Hot showers are also available for competitors.
Members of J.A.S.A., the Jinja Adventure Safety Association will be offering activities for spectators of all ages, activities will include quad biking, horse riding, kayak cruises and mountain biking.
Entertainment will also be provided throughout the day and on into the evening, as well as arts & crafts stalls and raffle tickets being sold with the chance to win some great prizes.
