A horseback safari is a wonderful way to explore the banks of the River Nile, meet the local people in traditional Ugandan villages and appreciate the sheer beauty of the surrounding areas.
The company is owned by a Kiwi and an Aussie and the horses are well looked after, well behaved and live outside on vast grazing paddocks. They are all kept to a standard you would expect to find in first world countries.
So, saddle up and enjoy the ride!
Minimum age for children: 4 years.
Riders between the age of 4 - 6 can only do the 1 hour walking safari.
One rider per horse.
Oour guide will have the child's horse on a lead rope if required.
The maximum weight limit for guests is 95kg, but most of the horses cannot carry more than 80 or 90kg.
Fully adjustable helmets and a full-length raincoat are provided. We ride with English style saddles, not western-style trail saddles (as are often used in north and south America).
It is recommended that you bring own CLOSED FOOTWEAR (trainers, boots etc), long trousers (to prevent stirrups leather rubs), and of course, a camera!
You can safely leave your bags at our premises. All horses have saddlebags for storing camera, wallets, sunscreen and water etc whilst out on safari.
No previous experience is necessary - rides are offered for very experienced riders to complete beginners and are in fact tailored to suit the riding skills of each group. Safari groups have the opportunity to temporarily separate at certain points on the safari, allowing more experienced riders to ride at a more advanced pace and those not so confident to stay in their comfort zone.
All rides are accompanied by at least two experienced horse guides.
