Discover the Nile

In view of the number of skilled, independent kayakers visiting on a budget, this ‘Introduction to the Nile' package provides the opportunity, initially, to discover all the sections of the Nile River, while under the expert guidance of one of our professionals. Thereafter, you will be ‘on your own', but Kayak the Nile staff will be available to help and advice throughout your stay. This allows you to maximise your time and make the most of your trip, and discover the Nile in the safest and easiest way. Please see the itinerary for further details.

Day 1: You will be met at Entebbe Airport by a representative from Kayak the Nile, who will transfer you to Bujagali Falls, Jinja.  This interesting 3 hour journey is in the comfort of our private kayak shuttle vehicle. On arrival you will be checked-in to your dormitory accommodation (upgrades available).  In the evening your guide will meet you and give you an insight into what lies ahead over the next few days.

Day 2: After breakfast you will join your guide for the day.  He will accompany you down the Day 1 Section of the river, as far as ‘Itanda falls'.   He is an expert, and will brief you on all of the rapids: which sections to avoid and which channels are best to run on each section etc.   At the end of the day, enjoy a cold beer or soft drink, before being transferred back to Bujagali Falls and your accommodation.

Day 3: Today, we load up the vehicles and drive down to the start of the Day 2 Section. Your guide will  then lead you down through this stunning  section of water, pointing out, and playing on, all of the awesome waves. Once again our own vehicle will meet us with cold beers and soft drinks and transfer us back to Bujagali.
